Who We Are and What We Do
Since our inception, THE CAPITAL CHRISTMAS GROUP has indeed changed, morphed and ultimately expanded. The one thing though that has remained the same is our mission to help children and their families in need both through service and by raising funds that go toward helping us achieve bigger goals each year. To help our mission, we encourage you to become a sponsor or donor for our signature event annually in December. If you’d like to learn more about how to get involved or contribute, reach out today.

The Lamont Corbin Family is THE ONLY family that The Group supports directly. They came to the Group from our beloved Garland Pinkston who was once the Treasurer of The Capital Christmas Group.
In honor of Garland's never-ending dedication to The Corbin Family, we have continued his legacy by making them an annual recipient.
HOPE HOUSE DC
Hope House began in 1998 providing cutting edge programs to strengthen families and, in particular, the relational bonds between children and their fathers imprisoned far from home. In addition our goals include reducing the isolation, stigma, shame and risk these families experience when fathers and husbands are imprisoned, and to raise public awareness about this most at-risk population.
At the end of 2001, Washington DC’s Lorton Correctional Institution was closed, and nearly 8,000 convicted felons from the District were transferred to federal prisons across the United States. Hope House DC was founded to serve the needs of inmates who have been taken to prisons far from the District, and has three primary purposes:
